GCD is a small firm specializing in modest but important jobs mainly for local entrepreneurs, small businesses and homeowners.  On the residential side we provide a range of services that include custom single family homes, total gut renovations, small to medium size renovations and additions such as family rooms, garages, decks, gazebos, sun-rooms and apartments.  We routinely take on limited scope interior renovations such as bathrooms and kitchens.  Additional services include stamped drawings for zoning, pricing and building permitting.  We routinely provide stamped engineering drawings and on site visits by our engineering consultant for a wide variety of structural work.

The practice has cultivated a particular expertise in applying to the Cambridge Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) for variances and special permits for dormers and additions on older homes which pre-date the local zoning code.  While we appear most frequently before the Cambridge BZA, we have also successfully shepherded applications for zoning relief in Brookline, Somerville and other towns in the greater Boston area.

Our commercial work includes tenant fit outs, renovated storefronts, ADA compliant entries and restrooms, Change-of-Use plans, and stamped drawings for permitting, zoning and bidding.  For our non-profit clients we have designed and coordinated playground improvements as well as graphic design services for fundraising efforts.

GCD is excited to offer DESIGN BUILD options with skilled, reliable and ethical contractors who are ready to provide estimates for your project.  Our rates are affordable and we produce accurate drawings in the time frame you need them done.  We emphasize working collaboratively and responsively with our clients.

GCD would be pleased to hear from you regarding your project, to learn more about what you are trying to do, and work with you to make your project come in on time and on budget.
